Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IS ARTHUR Metcalfe of Thirsk CM's longest surviving reader?

Eighty-two-year-old Arthur rang me up the other day after seeing that our March 16 issue completed 80 years of publication. He remembers when CM could be bought for a penny a week and among his treasured possessions are the first two complete volumes of The Commercial Motor.

They were bequeathed to him by "Scarborough Bill" Wintering ham who, like Arthur's father, was a guarantee man with James Mann, the Leeds operator of steam wagons.

Here's to your next 80 years, Arthur, We're sure you'll enjoy reading us.
