• British manufacturers made 40,582 commercial vehicles in June-246,770 in the six months ended June 28, states the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
British Leyland heads the list with 14,943 commercial vehicles made in June=-5,271 of these by the Austin /Morris division, 3,424 by Rover, 6,248 by the bus and truck division. Other makes—Ford: 12,009; Rootes: 2,667: Vauxhall: 10,195; Atkinson: 80; Bristol Commercial Vehicles: 60; others: 628.
