33 Thornycroft Trusty Pt four-wheeled heavy-duty petrolengined tractors has been received from the South African RailwaysRoad Motor Services by the local Thornycroft agents, Robertson and Moss, Ltd., Johannesburg. These vehicles will be required, among other duties, to haul trailers of 35 tons capacity. The units are fitted with heavy-duty engines developing 128 b.h.p. at 2,300 r.p.m.
Added to the previous order for 210 Thornycroft haulage units for goods and dual-purpose needs, this recent order brings the total of vehicles ordered from Thornycroft by the S.A. Railways this year to 243.
