• A buyer is expected to be announced this week for the Bus Engineering Group, which has been in receivership since 8 June.
BEG went into receivership following mounting pressure from creditors, but the receiver has maintained the business as a going concern, despite up to 60 redundancies. Negotiations are under way with two interested parties and a deal is about to be finalised at a "substantial price", according to the receiver, Pannell, Kerr and Forster, BEG comprises three main companies and six operating divisions. The main companies are parent Bus Engineering Group, Bus Engineering Group Properties and Capital Commercials, which franchises chassis for Seddon Atkinson and AWD.
The operating divisions are Bus Parts Eastleigh, Bus Parts Birmingham, Hampshire Body and Paint, Gatwick Engineering, Southdown Engineering and Kent Engineering.
