AN appeal for a special levy has been made by the Yorkshire (Hull) Area of the Road Haulage Association to offset the loss of subscriptions suffered Its a result of nationalization. The finance committee budgeted for £300£350, but although membership has dropped to about 270, the response to the appeal has already produced £570.
Mr. H. Hunter, area chairman. made this statement at th annual dinner of the area.
Mr. Eric Paterson, legal adviser, spoke of the hardship caused to many hauliers by nationalization.
