The bogie assemblies are carried on a pair of trailing arms pivoted at the rear of the load deck. One of the assemblies is braked lightly and with the locking pins removed the outfit is slowly reversed. The effect of the brake on one bogie causes this to swing outwards transmitting identical movement through quadrant gearing to the opposing bogie, both swinging around their respective pivot points simultaneously to finish up situated transversely alongside the load deck and leaving the full width of the deck available for rear end loading. Fabricated steel ramps are provided for plant to be run up on to the platform.

When the loading operation is completed the Timiser is driven forward until the bogies run back into the straight ahead position, the locking devices are then replaced making the vehicle suitable for operation again.

/I and G Trailers (Lye) Ltd, Hayes Lane, Lye, Vorcestershire AOST POPULAR in the range of trailers made M and G are the dual-purpose coil carriers. 'hese are built with single-, tandemand aree-axle running gears, Rubery Owen gear eing used throughout. The company has ontinued to develop its original design of coil arrier, ironing out the "bugs" as they have risen until it is currently an extremely wellroven vehicle.

To overcome the inherent problems with ires running on three-axle running gears, M nd G have developed an extremely simple triable load suspension. The progressive wing pads are replaced at the slipper ends of le balance beams adjacent to the centre axle y constant rate units. The centre axle is auipped with low-profile tyres which, having larger rolling radius than the standard 10 x 0 equipment normally fitted, causes this axle I accept a higher proportion of the load. The creased capacity of the bogie permits the nailer tyre equipment on the leading and ailing axles to run well within their designed nits, while the additional load imposed on e centre axle is also below tyre design eight of the low-profile tyres fitted there.
