Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

EXPANSION in', many companies 1-1 within the group is reported by Sir William Black in his annual statement as chairman of The Leyland Motor Corporation Ltd. A.E.C., Leyland, Scarnmell and Albion are said to be working at high pressure, but he says the most important limiting factor is the inability of the group to obtain adequate supplies of parts and components not manufactured by member companies. Special steps are being taken — including increasing the group's own manufacturing facilities and by giving firm long-term commitments—to remedy this position.

All Leyland Motor Corporation factories arc being re-equipped to maintain quality and competitiveness; further extensions are taking place at the Albion factory and at Leylaml, new offices are

being built and a new research and development block will be completed shortly. Factory extensions are being made at Leyland and a new test track is to be built.

Substantial Orders Overseas, a similar picture of expansion is given and, speaking of the future, Sir William Black says that both at home and overseas the group has substantial order books. Remarking that long-term success depends upon the availability of adequately trained staff, he reports that an additional training establishment is being built which will supplement the comprehensive training scheme already existing—there are some 15,000 apprentices being trained throughout the Corporation.
