• Removals company Bullens, bought last week by NFC removals division Hoults Removals, has had its London head office staff slashed from 23 to nine.
Most of the losses were on the accounting side; in future finances will be managed from Hoults' accounting offices in Manchester.
It is unclear whether the job of Bullens finance director, which is currently held by Alan Ayres, will remain. It is being discussed by NFC this week.
Aubrey Appleton remains managing director of Bullens. It is possible that the company's head office might be shut in the future, says NFC, but will remain in London for the time being. Bullens was previously a subsidiary of Wincanton Distribution Services.
