VET another important bus operator, Southdown Motor Services, Ltd., announces a reduced profit despite a substantial increase in grass revenue. Mr, 'R. P. Beddow, M.Inst.T., chairman, said at the recent annual genera! meet-• ing of the company; that since last October increases in expendittire had overtaken the upward trend in receipts„ and the tendency continued.
In some places the number of stagecarriage journeys made by the public tended to fall, and in these instances improved fabilities that had been introduced 'would have to come up for reconsideration.
This season. Mr. Beddow added, the company had increased its programme of extended tours by about 50 per cent.
