The Scottish Centre, of the Institution of, Automobile Engineers, which 'so:spend-ad its activities during the latter part of the war, owing to the naajerity of its members being engaged on active service or on urgent war work; has now decided -upon an attractive programme for the coming winter session. The committee, which has held several meetings lately, is now comprised as follows:—

Clarkson, the president of the parent body, will deliver his presidential address before the Scottish Centre. Mr. H. R. Ricardo will deal with " Engine Design," and Lieut.Col. D. j. Smith will give a paper on "Producer Gas as Applied to Vehicle Propulsion." "Car Design and Car Usage " will be the subject dealt with by Mr. E. N. Duffield, and these three papers alone will certainly appeal to Scottish members by reason of the reputation of their anthors.. In addition, there -will be papers by local members, and it is proposed to hold an informal evening, when different members will deal with different parts of a chassis arid iuvite discussion of the various points with a view to improving design.

It has been decided to hold the meetings on the second Monday of each month, commencing with October.
