• Preston is the first BRS branch to win the BS5750 quality standard. Customers at Preston include ICI Chemicals and Polymers and Leyland Oaf. The company is planning to gain BS5750 for all its 160 branches.
LI BRS Southern is to supply Reading Borough Council with three Seddon Atkinson refuse collection vehicles under a contract-hire deal worth £400,000 over five years. It is BRS Southem's first venture into the refuse collection market; the vehicles will be maintained by BRS Reading. LI NFC is close to acquiring distribution companies in France and Spain, as part of its plans to strengthen its presence on the Continent. It already has a warehousing operation near Paris.
