PLANNING PERMISSION FOR SMALL BUSINESSES You are a small haulage company and you want to errect a canopy over a beading bay. Do you need planning permission?

The Department of the Erna-jowl-lent has just published a 32 page booklet which helps small businesses decide whether or not they need planning permission and how to go about getting it. It includes planning matters that refer to running a business from home.

The booklet, called Planning Permission for Small Businesses, is free and has been sent to all local authorities in England and Wales. Copies can also be ordered from the Department of the Environment, Distribution Section, Building 3, Victoria Road, South Ruislip, HA4 ONZ.

WHO'S WHO IN THE BUS INDUSTRY Travel and Transport of London has extended the scope of its annual Who's Who in the Bus industry guide to cover leading independent operators in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands and Ireland as well as a complete list of public and nationalised bus sector operators.

The 100 page guide includes details of most operators with fleets of at least 40 vehicles.
