M. A. L. KING. until recently general manager administration of Shell-Mex and B.P., Ltd., has been appointed general manager sales in succession to MR. A. M. MACKINTOSH,

MR. G. H. LtviteGs-rom, previously Glasgow area sales manager of the Avon India Rubber Co., Ltd., has been appointed sales manager (tyres) of the company's export division in London. MR. C. MEDD, previously commercial vehicle specialist, London depot, succeeds Mr. Livingston in Glasgow.

MR. N. R. BELLWOOD, chief financial officer of British Road Services, has been appointed director of the funds and general division at the head * quarters of the British Transport Commission. MR. G. DICKINSON. senior costing& assistant at B.T.C. headquarters, has become principal traffic costing officer at Paddington. MR. A. J. PRAGNELL, assistant commercial officer at the headquarters of B.R.S., has been appointed commercial officer, and will also act as commercial manager of B.R.S. (Contracts), Ltd. MR. A. S. EATON, outside advertising manager of Ferodo, Ltd., has retired after 32 years' service.

MR. B. W. CLARK has been elected to the board of the S.M.T. Sales and Service Co., Ltd., as assistant managing director. He was formerly general manager. MR. G. V. DRYDEN and MR_ D. DONALDSON, area managers, have also joined the board. Mr. Clark has spent his working life in the motor industry and joined the company in 1943.

MR. WILLIAM FARNORTH, who has been north-western executive officer of the Road Haulage Association, the Traders' Road Transport Association and the Passenger Vehicle Operators' Association since 1945, has vacated these posts. He will continue in an advisory capacity until March 31, 1958. MR. W. M. FARNORTH, deputy secretary of the North Western (Eastern) Area of the R.H.A., MR. G. GREGORY, assistant secretary of the North Western Division of the T.R.T.A., and MR. J, J. FLAHERTY, assistant secretary of the North Western Area of the P.V.O.A., have become local secretaries of their respective associations.
