ANYONE who would like to simulate a trip across Exmoor on a typical summer day can do so at Rotherham on September 11. One attraction at South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive's open day at a new garage in Midland Road will be rides through a bus wash, which will reproduce Exmoor's annual rainfall of over 72in. Another feature will be rides on horsedrawn buses.
The object of the exercise is to give the public "A glimpse of the complex processes which result in a bus arriving at a stop." These are usually different from those which result in a bus grinding to a halt.
