of commercial vehicles in the London area, under the summer blitz scheme, will be made within the next two or three weeks, the Ministry of Transport announced on August 26. The previous London checks were in July.
Meanwhile Newcastle upon Tyne has this week been the centre of intensive checks, attended by Mr. Marples, and results of earlier roadside checks have been released, as shown below.
