have been contracted to pull a road planer on a low loader onto the motorway so that it can be used to carry out motorway maintenance. I've heard that motorway maintenance vehicles are exempt from keeping tachograph records does this apply to me?
As you are only providing the vehicle that is needed to carry out the maintenance on the motorway, you are still regulated by the same rules that apply to any other mainstream operator so you must use a tachograph and stick to the drivers' hours regulations.
