Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Hands Trailers is introducing an axle with S-cam brakes onto its automatic coupling semitrailer. The brake carrier is a one-piece drop-forging which is welded onto the axle tube. All, moving parts are bushed for easy maintenance and replacement, and the brake drum has been designed to fit on to the outside of the hub enabling linings to be checked and serviced without dismantling the hub, bearings and seals. The brake has been developed with the one-piece. axle-tube recently announced by Moss Gears Ltd. This is swaged and thickened at each end to ensure the maximum strength where it is most needed.

The end float of the bearings is adjusted by means of a slotted nut, made in high-grade steel. with two kin. diameter pinch screws. This one-piece design is capable of withstanding a torque of 180 lb.ft. and gives an infinite range of adjustment, eliminating the need for the usual slotted axle and tongued facing lock washer.
