FOLLOWING an inquest at Newcastle upon Tyne last week, the city's road safety committee is to start a campaign to alter the provisions of the 1960 Road Traffic Act, which place trolley buses outside certain legal requirements placed upon other vehicles. A 76-year-old woman was knocked down by a Corporation trolley bus and afterwards said she was well. The driver, since he was not required to do so by the 1960 Act, did not report the accident to the police. The woman later died.
