• Loughborough-based bodybuilder Southfields has supplied its 100th unit to The John Dee Group, bringing the total value of equipment delivered to more than £250,000.
Dee is using swap-bodied rigid curtainsiders from Southfields on new AWL) chassis: one of its biggest recent single orders was for 30 mainly platform skeletal semi-trailers.
Abel demount systems have been used, especially on the Southfields bodies Dee is using for its new Magnet joinery and furniture contract which required 60 Southfields curtainsiders. The AWD and Leyland Daf Roadrunner and Freighter chassis have been specified with air suspension on the rear axle.
Dee is expanding fast and currently has 400 vehicles, 14 depots, a turnover of £28 million and a subsidiary in Belgium. It plans to expand further into Europe.
