At the front on the off side, an emergency exit is provided which may be used by the driver as his normal entrance. This is equipped with a concealed step, so that when the vehicle is in service abroad, passengers may use this doorway as the normal exit and entrance.

Two sliding roofs are fitted. The forward one is electrically controlled by the driver and the rearward section is manually operated in the usual way. Each of the 26 seats, including the rear row across the back of the coach, is adjustable over a range of four positions. The seats are of Duple design and manufacture, filled with Dunlopillo and upholstered in moquette to the Southdown design. Separate armrests are leather covered. A rug container is fitted beneath each scat, behind which there is an unusually capacious pocket.

An interior heating and ventilation system of Leyland design is fitted, the air intakes for which are situated in the waist rail. The twin Clayton heaters are located under the floor. Radio and amplifier equipment manufactured by Radiomobile, Ltd., is another standard fitting, the radio-amplifier unit being accessibly mounted to the left of the entrance steps. A plug-in socket behind the driver's seat enables the courier to speak to the passengers with the microphone from the front of the coach.

All windows, including the curved roof quarters and the curved rear light, are of toughened safety glass. Concealed . safety blinds may be used to cover the roof quarters.

The spare wheel is concealed beneath the front overhang of the body and simple winding gear is supplied for its handling.

The finish of the new vehicles will be in light green, the skirt rail being in dam green, thus differing from conventional Southdown practice.
