The Latest Doings and Developments in the Bus and Coach World.

THE recently formed Worcestershire (City and County) Char-i-bancs and Bus Proprietors Association had two• particular complaints for consideration at its meeting held at ,Worcester quite recently.

The one complaint related to alleged unfairness of privileges granted to some firms over others, especially in regard to parking at race meetings. Some firms, it was stated, were allowed to park by the roadside, whilst others had to .go away from the approach to the course and pay 5s. for parking. The secretary was instructed to interview the chiefs of Police, both for the city and the county, on the matter.

The other complaint concerns the use of Angel Street as a loading place and terminus for coaches. Up to now coach owners had been allowed to use this street, but at very short notice the streets committee, through the chief constable, had forbidden the parking of vehicles in it. This had inflicted a serious hardship upon local proprietors. It was difficult to get owners to use a different partof the town after using Angel Street for so long. Moreover, it was said that, by this action, a monopoly had virtually been created. The question is being taken up by the association.

Permanent officers of the association were elected at this meeting as follow :— Mr. C. It. Lockyer, chairman; Mr. V. Bailey, vice-chairman ; Mr. Turner, treasurer ; and Mr. F. Hal), 6, Cromwell Crescent, Worcester, secretary.

The following firms have now joined the association, which appears to be building up a very successful organization :—Messrs. Bailey and Turner, Mr. C. J. Marks, Mr. F. Hall, Mr. A. N. Staples (Worcester) ; Messrs. C. R. Lockyer (Malvern Link) ; Messrs. G. Burnham (Clifton-on-Teme) ; Messrs. Critchley (Tenbury Wells) ; Mr. G. Woodward (Malvern); Mr. A. Moore (Witley) ; Mr. W. C. Greenhill, Messrs. Wadley (Kidderminster) ; Messrs. P. Owen and Sons (Abberley).
