/00 MR. ALAN YOUNG, tyre division sales manager of the Avon India Rubber Co.. Ltd.. has completed 40 years with the company, rising from a junior clerk in what was then the cycle department. He has held his present position since 1929.

M. E. W. MARTIN has resigned his position as sales director of the Standard Motor Co., Ltd., of which he became sales manager in 1931. and director in 1945. For reasons of health he has to reside in the South of England, where he has planned to join one of the company's distributors.

He is succeeded as tractor it specialist by MR. O. N. BURNIF,TT, who will handle Goodyear tractor, land and giant tyres in Northern Scotland.

MR. R. F. FARMER, of the Atlas Express Co.. Ltd , 30, Little Britain, Londoh. E.C.I, succeeds MR. W. J. A. PECK as chairman of the 1‹.H.A. Express Carriers Group. The two vicechairman on this group are MR. J. GEE, of Messrs. Dawsons, 3. Southwark Street, London, S.E.1. and MR. R. 8. BRITTON, of National Parcels and Goods Services, South Bentleet, MR. V. W. PILKINGTON, M. B.E., M.Eng., M.I.Mech.E., director of engineering of Leyland Motors, Ltd., and manager of the company's automotive and industrial units division, has relinquished the office of chairman of the North-Western Centre (Automobile Division) of the I ns t I t ution of Mechanical Engineers. Mr.. Pilkington is now vice-chairman of the institution's North-Western branch.
