A CCORDING to Mr. D. M. Sinclair, CA general manager, Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd., the future trend in passenger vehicle design will he towards the underfloor-amidships engine.
Amongst the advantages claimed for this design, said Mr. Sinclair, were better weight distribution, no infringement on payload space, better protection in the event of collision, and freedom from noise to both passengers and driver.
Mr. Sinclair was speaking about the development of the public service vehicle to members of the north-western centye of the automobile division of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, The meeting was held last week at Leyland, Motors, Ltd.. Leyland, Lanes.
