• Trevor Mansfield, general manager of Souriau's Auto Division, told the annual Souriau Distributor Dinner that the distributor network now accounts for 52% of sales. The turnover in sales of garage equipment was up by 38% in 1989.
"Sue Rio" (real name Diana) made the presentations and gave distributors the chance to meet the girl behind the face which features in Souriau's promotions. When Sue Rio isn't modelling, she drives a 38-tonne Scania truck.
Spinney Trading won the Distributor of the Year cup. Other winners include: Lift Distributor, Arrington Equipment, Cambs; Lubrication Equipment Distributor, B & B Services, Lanes; Diagnostic Salesman, Peter Romanko, Octara, Notts; Souriau Salesman — John Worthington, NW region.
