THREE of the 10 exhibits on the 1 Leyland Motors Ltd. stand at the forthcoming Brussels Show will be new single-decker passenger models by Brossel Freres S.A., Leyland's associate in Belgium. They will be the A80 DSL 80passenger bus, the A72 DAR 72-passenger bus and the Star which will have 43-seat, front-entrance integral bodywork by Mennes and Co.

The Star represents a move by Brossel into a market new for them. The chassis is designed for use with relatively small (for Belgium) coach bodies and has a Leyland 0.400 vertically-mounted diesel engine. Drive is taken through an Albion six-speed overdrive gearbox to an Albion rear axle incorporating hub reduction. The version to be shown will have an 18-ft. wheelbase.

A horizontal version of the Albion EN.335 diesel engine is used to power the Brossel A72 DAR. This 95-b.h.p. engine is mounted at the rear, driving through a ZF five-speed gearbox. This model can be supplied with a liquid petroleum gas engine in place of the Albion diesel and fully-automatic transmission is also available.

The A80 DSL has a Leyland 0.400 engine vertically mounted at the front of the chassis and driving through a ZF fivespeed gearbox to a Brossel hypoid-bevel rear axle. W_heelbase of this model is 20 ft. 5 in. and the body, which seats 43, is 39 ft. long by 8 ft. 2 in. wide. The bus to be shown is to be used by a private operator for Belgian Railways.

Other Leyland exhibits will he two Worldmaster 20-ft.-wheelbase buses (one with De Bauwe Vogel bodywork, the other with a body by Van Hool), a Leyland Hippo, an Albion Super Reiver. an Albion Meteor, a,Leyland 2-tonner and a Scammell tandem-axle semi-trailer.
