FIVE tower wagons and a rollingstock maintenance van belonging to Newcastle upon Tyne Corporation have been equipped. with mobile G.E.C. V.H.F. radio transmitter-receivers and a fixed station has been installed for the main control room at the corporation headquarters. The tower wagons are responsible for the maintenance of the street-lighting installations and trolleybus overheadlines throughout some 40 miles of streets.
