• A truck driver who faces two charges of causing death by dangerous driving following a crash in January has had his plea hearing adjourned until the new year (CM 23-29 October). Robert Lightfoot, of Silloth-basecl haulier Vivian Shandwick Lightfoot & Partners, was due to enter his plea at Carlisle Crown Court earlier this week. This followed a crash in January on the A596 at Thursby in which John McEuan and his daughter Nicola, from Workington, both died.
