Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Seddon Atkinson has sold 39 refuse collection vehicles to Hong Kong's Regional and Urban Service Departments. The Faun/Partek 4x2s are a mixture of narrow and standard-track vehicles, all with Cummins engines.

• Hydraulic hose specialist Dunlop Hiflex Fluidpower has ordered 29 LDV Convoy vans for its mobile repair/replacement and service operation. The 3.5tonne turbo-diesel HiLoaders have uprated front axles, heavy-duty tyres, ply lining and racking, a bulkhead, ventilated disc brakes and high-security locks.

• Mercedes-Benz has won a road safety award from the AA for the spray-reducing wheelarches on the Actros. Moulded ribs contain the spray and channel water away from the path of the following wheels; Mercedes claims that this reduces motorway spray by up to 80%.

• Scottish charity Alloa Community Enterprise has bought a three-compartment recycling vehicle from Trio which will be used primarily for glass recycling. It is based on an MAN 18.224 chassis, has a 25m3 capacity and can handle containers from 240-1,100 litres. Funding for the vehicle came partly through the Landfill Tax Credits scheme.
