Transfleet, which Lex jointly owns with Lombard North Central, bought Mitchell Cotts Transport Services last month for £16.5 million, giving it a truck fleet of 4,700.
It also jointly-owns Lex Vehicle Leasing, which has about 200 vans in its Lex Van Contracts arm, and 11 truck dealerships, all run by subsidiaries. Lex Tillotson has Leyland Daf franchises in Scunthorpe, Hull, the West Midlands, Avonmouth, Glasgow and Bristol.
Eurotrucks runs a Volvo dealership in Broxbum; SMT an Iveco Ford in Edinburgh; Gilbert Rice Iveco Ford has outlets in Horsham and Cambridge; and Sellers and Baty an ERF outlet in Peterborough.
