THE Transport Studies Group of the Polytechnic of Central London is currently carrying out research into the use of computers by operators of small commercial vehicle fleets.

The project will be funded by .1 the Science and Engineering Research Council, and will analyse 1

the new technology requirements of operators with up to five vehicles, as well as providing computer software companies with a greater awareness of small haulage companies' operating problems.

The group will consult a large number of operators throughout the UK and will also be involving trade associations in the project. The results are due to be announced soon after the study ends in February 1985.
