Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• An order to ban parking and stopping fqr loading and unloading at 76 bus stops a 39 roads in Coventry is being sought from the city council.

The council will be asked to make the order, to take effect, between 7 am and 7 pm, on the grounds of safety and the prevention of congestion, in September.

A spokesman for the transport department said if a bus could not pull into a bus stop it meant passengers having to walk into the road, thereby causing a hazard. The buses could hold up other traffic if they could not pull in at a stop.

He added: "We have looked at all our bus stops in the city to see which of them requires protection in the first stage. The request for the order is being made because the situation is really bad at some stops".

Coventry Chamber of Commerce, which had previously objected in principle to the whole order, has now withdrawn its objection after each bus stop had been discussed.
