ASUGGESTION that a number of large R.A.F. storage tanks on the Island of Islay should be used as bulk fuel stores has been put to the Air Ministry through the National Farmers' Union. The originator, of the scheme, Mr. Peter Gray, estimates that a year's supply of fuel could be accommodated at a saving of 5d. per gallon. The Air Ministry, however, has so far withheld its permission to proceed with the scheme.
