An Interesting Trolley-wheel Arrangement. , The heavy trolley manufactured by Carrhnore Six Wheelers, Ltd., of North Finchley, London, N.12, which is illustrated on this page, is of interest because the arrangement of the wheels is such that it might be suitable, in a modified form, for use in factory yards and other confined spaces.

u16 The trolley is intended for conveying in and out of the sea a large 25-ton monoplane flying boat, „built by the Supermarine Aviation Works, Ltd. The trolley will be run down the slipway until, when it is below the surface of the water, the flying boat will float off. The four wheels are mounted on stub axles, which are connected by track rods to drawbars fore and aft ; thus it can be steered when being hauled by tractors in either direction. By uncoupling the track-rods and swinging the wheels round at right angles, locking them in the new position by means of radius rods, the trolley can be " crabbed " sideways. This makes it possible to manceuvre the monoplane on the slipway The radius rods and steering connections are not shown in their completed form in the .illustration, but it will be seen that for industrial purposes, especially where heavy loads have to be handled, the design might prove extremely useful.
