ROAD TO BE WIDER

WORK is to start shortly on improving the Exeter-Leeds trunk road between Streethay, near Lichfield, and Alrewas, a distance of about three miles. The road will be straightened and a second carriageway added at a cost of £155,000. The project should be completed in about 18 months.

Eventually it is intended to provide a dual carriageway all the way from Streethay to Branston, Burton-on-Trent, a distance of eight miles.
