Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Need designed by the Ministry of War Transport to prevent the hoarding of stocks of certain spare parts which are in short supply.

Those required by either a repairer or operator will be issued only against this certificate, and it will ensure that supplies are limited to the requirements of vehicles which would otherwise be immobilized.

The document is printed in pads of 25 and will shortly be available at repair Shops throughout the country. Only one will be needed in respect of each job.

Under the scheme, which came into operation on October 1, manufacturers will, from time to time, issue to their distributors lists of such spare parts, and when a repairer wishes to obtain one of these parts, either for his own • use or for one of his customer's vehicles, he will be required to forward a certificate to the distributor or, if the Parts be bought direct, to the manufacturer.

The lists for which certificates are required will, at the request of the Ministry 01 Supply, be kept as short as possible.

ROYAL AND MAYORAL INSPECTION OF FORD FOOD VANS THE Lord Mayor of London recently asked the Ford Emergency Food Vans • Trust for an opportunity to inspect some of its vehicles and, as Chief Citizen, to express the gratitude of the public for this magnificent gift from Mr. Henry Ford and his son. This inspection took place on September 16 and, following it, the vehicles were carefully examined . by Their Majesties. '

Full details of the scheme have already been published in this journal. We need only add that the vans attending came from Central London and the Inner London districts. They were accompanied by representatives of local Ford dealers and members of local sections of the W.V.S. who will drive and staff the vans.

The Lord Mayor announced that an additional 50 vans would be placed at the disposal of the Trust by the Lord Mayor's Air Raid Distress Fund. The original Ford gift was one of 350 vehicles, valued at 150,000.
