The almost funerial atmosphere at the RHA Exhibition on Saturday would have driven the stand-holders to despair had it been allowed to persist, but the boys from Sandbach saw to it that we were all kept awake.
The members of the Fodens Motor Works Band, those splendid virtuosoes of brass and wood, burst forth every few minutes in the middle of the day with another rousing march which sent the spirits soaring and the feet tapping, except for Fred Hope and his men who were located in their stand immediately below the bandsmen. When last seen Fred was on the verge of an overdose oi aspirins.
