A Full Report of the Show, Drawing Specific Attention to the New Features and Outstanding Points in Design and Construction.

THE seventh Commercial Motor Exhibition opened its doors at Olympia on Thursday last, and they will not finally be closed until Saturday next, the 7th in

stant. The Show is open each jay from 10 a.m. ontil 10 p.m., and the price of admission is two shillings, except on Saturdays, when it will be one shilling.

In mere number of exhibits the Show beats all records, but, whilst this is an accomplishment of which the organizers may be proud, the chief claim to attractiveness this year lies in the extraordinary interest which will centre In the new ideas brought before the public gaze for the first time. The range of vehicles and appliances is very comprehensive, and includes British, Canadian and foreign productions, and embraces every possible purpose. It will be found, however, that the predominant note of the present Show is the great attention which has been given to the passenger vehicle—both coach and bus—whilst the needs of the cab trade have certainly not been neglected, but this does not mean that other aspects have not received attention.. There are both goods chassis and complete goods vehicles to meet all require ments, and many of them are of entirely new design, whilst .there is a fair sprinkling of vehicles for municipal needs, including some excellently appointed ambulances.

It is worthy of mention that the whole of our report is written after a careful and thorough examination of each exhibit.

We deal below and in the subsequent pages with the exhibits on the stands of makers and concessionnaires. On pages 416 to 420 we deal with bodywork, on pages 437 to 446 with components and accessories, on pages 427 and 428 with garage equipment, whilst the new inventions not yet on the market are described on page 426. We also publish some interesting opinions on tyre advances.
