711EIERE are signs of increasing activity amongst trailett, .1 manufacturers, for users are beginning to recognize that the trailer forms a very valuable means for increasing the load haulage capacity of their vehicles.

One of the most promient stands is that of Carrimore Six Wheelers, Ltd., which lies between the two halls, and on this stand is shown an interesting type of municipal dust-collecting wagon with sanitary steel covers and two steel wheels, an auxiliary third wheel of the castqr type being fitted at the front and arranged for lifting clear of the ground when required.

There is also a large 8-ton trailer for Beck and Pollitzer, Ltd., this having the patent Carrimore device employing two laminated springs and a wheel-controlled screw, by which additional pressure can be applied to the tractor ; the end of the drawbar is carried on the scale of an automatic weighing machine to show the actual effect. Other features of this trailer are the steel construction, round axles, internal-expanding brakes and frame slays. Steering is of the turntable type. On the same stand is the Carrimore trailer-conversion with a Leyland tractor.

On the stand occupied by the Eagle Engineering Co., Ltd., are several examples of their well-known trailers, including several particularly designed for use with Pordson traetors. These are of the two-wheeled type with a balland-socket connection for the tractor. The frame is of channel-section steel formed as a V, and efficient internalexpanding brakes are employed. There is also a 31-ton automatic tipping trailer in which the tipping is performed by backing the tractor.

An interesting trailer for municipalities is the houserefuse-collecting type. This has a capacity of 8 cu. yds., and has a low level to facilitate loading.

So far as four-wheel trailers are concerned, there is an Ackerman-steered three-way tipper with two cross-screws and vertical screws and a 4-ton trailer of the standard platform type.

RallSOMCS, Sims and J:efferies, Ltd., show. a 3-ton trailer with steel disc wheels, turntable and side-brake control, the shoes being of the external-contracting loco. type.

It. A. Dyson and Co., Ltd.; stage a boarded-tilt 4-ton turntable trailer with disc wheels for Carter, Paterson and Co., Ltd.; also a 3-ton platform type with cast-steel spoked wheels and supplementary compression springs at the rear ends of the semi-elliptical springs.

A 1-ton ball-bearing trailer is also shown in conjunction with a Citron-Kegresse on the Citroirin stand, and still another, built especially ler carrying bins of offensive trade refuse, is shown on the G.V. stand. Clayton Wagons, Ltd., show a turntable trailer with disc wheels, square axles and compensated band brakes. The frame is of rolled channel, and the extra wide body is supported by steel struts riveted to the side members. A hinged-sided body is fitted. On the Garrett stand is to be found a 3-ton trailer of the turntable type. A particularly interesting feature of this trailer is that the drawbar is mounted directly on the frame, instead of on the turntable. •

Two cleverly designed two-wheeled trailers,,kaown as the 11.33., are staged by Sheffield Steel Products, Ltd. The latest of these is of the short-body type, which will give an
