MHE most comprehensive and well1 displayed exhibit of CitroEn products bears striking testimony to the many activities of their well-known French maker.
Perhaps the one which is attracting most attention is the Citroen-Kegresse platform-bodied vehicle complete with special portable equipment for mowing golf courses, etc., this equipment being carried on the platform when not in use. It can, of course, also be used for A similar machine is shown equipped for towage work. This embodies some, features of exceptional interest, including steering automatically connected to brakes on the driving pulleys of the endless bands, an auxiliary two-speed gearbox on the hack axle which is operated from the driver's seat and provides in all six forward speeds and two reverse, and a differential locking device. For goods transport, there is the 31.4 h.p. farmer's wagon with a woodpanelled body, of the Normandy type and having a carrying capacity of 7 cwt. The equipment includes a hinged tailboard and folding waterproof hood with side curtains.
On the same type of chassis is a nest delivery van, a popular model with tradesmen, milliners, etc. This has two seats at the front and side curtains to each door, whilst the double door at the rear opens to the full width, of the body. The capacity, in this case, is also 7 cwt.
The only passenger vehicles are the Citran taxicabs, which are built to meet the requirements of Scotland Yard and are proving popular models on the streets of London and elsewhere. The engine and gearbox are as in the standard chassis, but the front -and haat axles are specially constructed.
