Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Foden will offer an extra 224kW(300hp) ATAAC (air to air after cooled) version of the 10.5 litre Caterpillar 3306B engine for 38 tonne GCW operation once it gains national type approval.

General availability is expected by September.

The new engine option will complement existing 261 and 298kW (350 and 400hp) Cat 3406 engines fitted by Foden.

Modifications have also been made to the current 201kW (270hp) turbocharged 3306B engine which has been available on eight-wheeled rigids and maximum weight tractive units since 1982.

Changes to the fuel rack design and turbocharger have increased maximum engine speed to 2,100rpm and increased the maximum torque on the 3306B from 1,142Nm (842bft) at 1,500rpm to 1,166 (860lbft) but at a lower 1.200rpm engine speed.
