• The remaining contenders for the Army's four-tonne payload contract — Leyland Daf, Volvo and AWD — are now undergoing preliminary trials, including road work, which will end in October after 10 months.
Commercial Motor spotted the Curnmins-engined 108kw 4x4 Roadrunner-based Leyland Daf vehicle at Chieveley Services on the M4. Each manufacturer has contributed eight vehicles to the trials. The final decision is not expected for at least another eighteen months.
