DR GIOVANNIA BRASCA, chairman of lveco UK, died suddenly last Sunday aged 59.

Dr Brasca was responsible for the first Fiat lorry imports into Britain in 1973, when he formed the Commercial Vehicle Division of Fiat (England) Ltd.

He was with Fiat for 30 years, working initially for the original equipment commercial vehicles manufacturing division. After transferring to the Fiat Car Division in 1968 he became managing director of Fiat Belgium and then of Fiat (England) Ltd.

In 1975, Dr Brasca became managing director of the newly formed Fiat Commercial Vehicles Ltd, and became chairman of Iveco in Britain when Fiat took over Magirus.
