• Complaints over lack of ministerial continuity are being voiced following the Cabinet reshuffle which brought the industry yet another Roads and Traffic Minister.
Reacting to the appointment of Robert Key, the Road Haulage Association says: "We certaintly have no objection to Mr Key but the big problem is the lack of continuity we've suffered."
Key is the fourth Roads and Traffic Minister to be appointed in five years: he replaces Kenneth Carlisle, who returns to the back benches. Key is a member (-). the Institute of Advanced Motorists; his only obvious connection with transport. He comes from the Ministry of Fun', where he was founder Minister.
