Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ILOSE to Edinburgh stand two famous bridges, the road and rail bridges ;sing the River Forth, but a much smaller less significant bridge became temporarily :th more significant on Sunday. At Slate I Road, near Gorgie Market, there stands 2 ft. 6 in.-high railway bridge, reprieved Beeching, and the Edinburgh LDOY com:ee were endeavouring to put 13 ft. 6 in. ides beneath it he offending bridge was one of the hing troubles that the Edinburgh LDOY nmittee had to contend with during their .-ever event in Gorgie Market; this event previously known as the Bathgate rid. The centre offers great scope and lcolm MacLeod and his committee will e much to discuss about how to make er use of available facilities in future. :e again the army played a major role rolieing, reception and measuring.

ames Gentleman and his RoSPA team e again in charge of the Highway Code -which makes it three out of three for n this year. Another with full attendance John Paul, organizing secretary at ifermline, steward at Glasgow, and clerk he course at Edinburgh. No wonder he's ling the title of "Mr. LDOY Scotland". The professional haulier was once more conspicuous by his absence and the event was supported largely by C-licensees. However, the A and B men who did compete came out of it very well. Russell of Bathgate and British Railways each gained two first places. John Walker Sugar Transport Ltd., were well to the fore, with R. Anderson returning the lowest penalty score of 144 points.

The Highway Code test produced highly satisfactory results. This has been general at the three Scottish centres. And the road test, despite the bridge turn, failed to produce any really heavy penalty score.

It was the three manouevering tests once again which sorted the men from the boys, and only because the men had done their homework. Nearly 80 per cent of the entries failed to stop astride a line when required to do so. Competitors must learn to read and understand the test instructions: many good performances were spoiled by neglect of detail. J.P.B.S.
