SCAMMELL Trailers Ltd would like operators using Scammell Top.0 fifth-wheel couplers to contact the company as there may be a minor design fault on a number of couplers within the serial numbers listed below.
Operators who have Scammelt fifth-wheel couplers should check the serial number and if it falls within the quoted range phone Norman Bolland at Scammell Partline head office on Corby (05366) 62951. An arrangement will be made to supply substitute parts.
The rectification involves the removal of the operating lever, headed pin and circlip to be replaced by a bolt, castellated nut and split pin available from Partline.
