• The largest single order received so far for its new Super Lightweight semi-trailers has been placed with Highway Trailers (Great Britain) Ltd., by Smith of Maddiston Ltd., Falkirk, a member of the United Freight Holdings Group.

Forty-five of these 32ft 6in., 30 g.t.w. trailers have been ordered, the units being claimed to have the lightest tare weight of any trailer on the market today, at under 3 tons.

Highway Trailers has also received an order for 251 single-axle, automatic coupling semi-trailers from National Carriers Ltd., the new company of the BRB Sundries Division. They are to be used for general haulage purposes.
