Ma. C. F. GARDNER is to retire from the board of the Standard Motor Co., Ltd. He joined the company in 1922 as purchase manager, and held that position until 1944, when, in recognition of his long service, he became a director.

Products, Ltd. He joined the parent company at Fort Dunlop in 1925. Ma. JAMES G. WRIGHT has been appointed manager of the engineering components section of the new company.
• MR. WILLIAM SINCLAIR, regional manager for Scotland ot the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., was recently given a complimentary dinner by the Scottish managers of other tyre companies, to mark their appreciation of Mr. Sinclair's work as chairman of the Tyre Register and other tyre committees in Scotland.
The following changes are announced by the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd.:—Ma. E. G. GARLAND, deputy district manager at Greenwich, has succeeded MR. D. M. HAWKINS as district manager at Southampton. MR. A. COCHRANE, regional manager for the west of England, has retired after nearly 41 years' service.
Ma. H. J. HoLmEs, who, as reported in"The Commercial Motor" on September 6, 1946, has returned to the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., from his wartime' post as Director of Tyres to the Ministry of Supply, has been appointed
regional manager for the West of England. His headquarters are at Bristol.
MR. A. WILLIAMS, M.I.A.E., has been appointed general manager of Trojan, Ltd. He has been works manager at the Kingston factory of Leyland Motors, Ltd., and assistant general manager at Leyland. Mr. -Williams was for seven years honorary secretary of the western centre of the Institution of Automobile Engineers.
MR. D. DERHAM has been elected chairman of the East Midland area of the Road Haulage Association. He has been chairman of the Derbyshire Sub-area since its inauguration in 1945. Mr. Derham is a member of the Association's national council and executive committee. The chairman of the Nottingham Sub-area, MR. J. T. Puma., has been elected chairman of the area public relations committee.
