Details of the Improved Services Between Cheltenham and Evesham

A LOCAL bus service connecting Cheltenham with Evesham and Malvern has recently been taken over by the Stratford-upon-Avon Motor Bus Co. (" Stratford Blue "), enabling that company to extend its StratfordEvesham route to Cheltenham and Malvern. The Bristol Tramways and Carriage Co., Ltd. (" Bristol Blue "), has recently started a service between Cheltenham and Evesham (hourly in each direction), so that with the facilities of the two companies there is a frequent service between the two centres. Big developments are also being made in the Cheltenham district by the Bir mingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd. (" Midland Red "), which has considerably increased its services during the past 12 months. This company is to build a new garage in Abbey Road, a site having been secured for the purpose, to accommodate 20 buses, with room for any extensions that may become necessary. At present buses operating in the district are brought daily from Worcester.

It is understood that when the garage is completed the company intends to reorganize all the services in the district. Local and through services will be increased and extended, new routes opened linking up with all important centres, and long-distance and express services put into operation. The company has recently opened a new garage and offices at Kidderminster and new offices at Droitwich Spa, has extended the -garages at Worcester and Bromsgrove, and is now erecting garages and offices at Church Road, Redditch. Big increases in long-distance travel are anticipated in the forthcoming season.
