TWO WEST Midlands PTE bus garages are to close over the next year as part of an efficiency drive.

WMPTE announced last Wednesday that its Coventry Road garage in Birmingham will close on October 26 this year, and that its Oldbury garage will close on January 25.

Services will be transferred to five other garages without any effect on services, and alternative employment is to be offered to "the majority" of employees at the two garages.
