• Due to be held on March 27, the newly introduced Bedford round of the LDoY competition had to be postponed.
Mr R. J. Barter, local area secretary, reported that this action became necessary when the Ministry of Technology informed the organizers of the site charges for the one-day event at Cardington. These were in excess of £.150 and. said Mr Barter, they bore no elation to those discussed with the Ministry at an earlier stage when the charge had been in the region of £40.
